The Library Venture!
During the pre-production stages me and Jesse went into the public library, because we wanted to create an old newspaper for our project. it was really interesting and we found out some really good things about the layout and writing styles of old newspapers.
Also we did actually print off 3 newspapers because we wanted to edit them to make it seem like our writing was a real part of the newspaper all along.

Evp Research

research notes from this website:
-EVP is the alleged communication by spirits through tape recorders and other electronic devices.
-belief in EVP in USA seemed to have mushroomed thanks to Sarah Estep, who claims that in the 1970's she started picking up voices on her husbands teac reel-to-reel recorder.
-scientific american asked Thomas Edison in the 1920's about the posibility of contacting the dead. Edison, a man of no strong religious views, said that nobody knows whether "our personalities onto another existence or spehere" but it is possible to contruct an apparatus which will be so delicate that if there are personalities in another existence or sphere who wish to get in touch with us in this existence or sphere, then this apparatus will at least give them a better opportunity to express themselves than lifting tables and raps and ouija boards and mediums and other crude methods now purported to be the only means of communication (clark 1997:235)
-EVP could possibly be interference from a nearby CB operator, cross modulation or ionospheric ducting
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Electronic_voice_phenomenon
-electronically generated noises that resemble speech.
-are not the result of intentional voice recordings or renderings.
-common sources: -Static.
-Stray radio transmissions.
-Background noise.
-EVP is often created by turning the gain up in the recording equipment, which then turns up the background sound picking it up more.
-Many occurrences have had natural explanations including apophenia (finding significance in insignificant phenomena) auditory pareidolia (interpreting random sounds as voices in one's own language), equipment artifacts and hoaxes.
Poltergeist Research
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Poltergeist
-The apparent manifestation of an invisible but noisy, disruptive or destructive entity.
-Reports include inanimate objects being picked up and thrown as if by and invisible person, noises such as knocking rapping or even human voices, and petty physical attacks on human beings, such as pinching, biting and hitting.
-Poltergeists are troublesome spirits who, unlike ghosts haunt a particular person instead of a specific location.

-In german, poltergeist literally means noisy.
http://www.ghosts.org.uk/ghost/233/spirits/poltergeist/advice/poltergeist-information.html
-Poltergeist is a German name for a 'noisy spirit'.
-Poltergeists have made their victims flee in terror running from their lives and leaving their homes abandoned.
-Most of the victims are females either in puberty or single women. A woman that is not married is at more risk than a woman who is not.
-This can start off small then more violently moving furniture, ripping clothes, scratching sound across the outside walls, banging's, male voices heard. These are just a fre of the things that can accrue with the poltergeist activity.

If fall into lava you die and become a lava monster
Limited amount of resources to get from one location to another
Weapon to destroy the lava monsters - if don't destroy go back to beginning
Limited number of chairs per group and race to other side
ERUPTION! - throw objects, lights go off (ash cloud)
Plane flying over volcano and erupts
Crashes and survivors only have a few plan seats to get across to safety
Chairs only last 5 minutes before melting
Get to safe zone without any lava to run away
Ranger comes over to save them, only have 5 seats spare, take first team and will come back for others (if they will still be alive!)

Ghost Filming and Photography.
For our project we want to create the thought that the Marketgate accommodation is actually haunted. therefore to do so we have to first think about how Ghost photography is actually done, and how it is comprised so that we may emulate it to our project to enhance the realism of the piece.
"The first think you should realize is that ghost phenomena does not always show up on film" In a website about how to actually capture a ghost on a camera, they tell us this. as their first point before they go into the mechanics of it. This implies that work is actually needed to create a ghost and to make a ghost visible in a picture. from this we could make an excuse to slightly use Photoshop to amplify the ghosts image otherwise it would not be visible to the people in which we want to get to see the ghost picture. From his we can say that it may look a bit fake (even though it is) because we had to do it so that people could actually see it. maybe increase the (fake)realism of it all.
"Always take photos of something and not just a clearing. Having a background image such as a tombstone, tree, building etc., It adds to the quality of the photo and allows mild light reflection for best possible results." with this we could make a more interesting shot for our ghost to be in, and maybe even add some people into the shot to make it even scarier. As i will probably repeat throughout this, we want the realism to really show throughout the project. Our game is an experience and without the fear of ghost our gamers/audience may not be as involved into the game as we want them to be.

From looking into mainly Most haunted. i can see that the majority part of it is a documentary style theme. with more interviews and information that we really can handle. however the part we want to investigate is the ghost filming. and this is Ghost filming seems to be a very personal experience making the audience feel just as scared in the situation as the person/actor is within the place where it is supposedly haunted. The majority of the shots are done in a hand held camera. and we never really see the camera man unless they get scared and turn the camera to themselves. most of the shots are at eye level with the person filming so we (the audience) feel like we are actually there. we are involved in the narrative.
This type of filming is what i think would be a great thing to do for our project because we want to make our audience feel more involved in the narrative, and make them feel like they are actually there. that Marketgate is actually haunted. so i feel we should adopt this exact style of filming when the ghost are concerned.
